SMECO CC&B Upgrade is a Success

Utility Solutions Partners, LLC (USP) is pleased to announce the successful upgrade of Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing System at Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO).

SMECO is headquartered in Hughesville, MD and provides retail electricity within Maryland to over 160,000 customers, in a service territory of 1,150 sq. miles, covering 4 counties.

In early 2019, SMECO selected USP to provide professional services to upgrade Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing system from version 2.4.0.3 to version 2.7.0.3. The project encompassed detailed assessments, extensive code remediation, testing and training. With the assistance of USP’s highly skilled professionals, the SMECO team achieved a very successful upgrade go-live over the weekend of May 8, 2020.
